Kesswil on Lake Constance
Between apple trees and Lake Constance, what Ceres stands for has been created since 1991: mother tinctures from fresh plants. Production takes place using the Ceres mortar process. At the headquarters in Kesswil, alongside production, quality control, filling, and administration are also located.
About this location
Kesswil lies on Lake Constance, set within a rural landscape of orchards, meadows and the gentle hills of Thurgau. In 1991, Roger Kalbermatten founded Ceres Heilmittel AG — in 2002 the company moved into a purpose-built new building on Bachtobelstrasse, where production, bottling, quality control and administration have been united under one roof ever since. A small medicinal herb garden on site grows every cultivable medicinal plant that Ceres processes.
More than 60 medicinal plants are processed here and at the Valais site in Nax into mother tinctures, dilutions and complex remedies — cold and gentle, using the patented mortar process. No heating, no high pressure. Just the plant, the tool and time.
Every second after harvest determines the quality of the tincture.

Alongside production, Kesswil is also home to the research and development team as well as the Academy administration. From the medicinal herb garden right next to the building to quality control in the lab — everything under one roof, everything held to the same standard.
